Job Duties:
- Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding.
- Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings.
- Prepare and install hardwood floors.
- Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
- Prepare floors for installations.
- Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
- Perform direct glue-down carpet installations.
Requirements:
- Experience in floor covering installation or related construction work is an asset.
- Ability to use hand tools and equipment required for flooring installation.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically capable of performing manual labour tasks and lifting materials.
Working Conditions:
• Work in wet, damp, strong odours, dust, cold environments, outdoors, noisy.
• Heavy workloads, stand, bend, crouch, and kneel.
• Repetitive task.
• Job is physically demanding, ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
